November 12th: Relationship Skill Building

In the middle hour Sara Beth Lohre lead us in relationship skill building:
“Do you have trouble meeting a special person to have a friendship or more with? Do you wonder what skills are needed to keep them interested in you? Do you feel unsure about the communication styles and expectations of men and women you might like to know more deeply? Do you wonder whether you deserve it or whether you can handle the demands of a long term relationship?” In this group, we worked on developing skills of listening, communication, emotion regulation and acceptance– all needed to develop healthy relationships of substance in our lives.

She emphasized the first step: Making a bid. She asked us all what made us stop from making a bid. She revealed that the most important traits that foster long term relationships are mutual generosity and kindness. She promised she will later reveal the Trojan horses.
